How can I tell someone to send me a Real-Time Payment (RTP)?

The sender’s bank can let them know whether or not they can send an RTP from their account. Ultimately, that answer is contingent on whether the sender’s bank is a participating certified bank within the RTP network. In addition, each RTP-certified sending bank may have specific rules around what they allow, including how much can be sent in any single RTP.

If the sender’s bank allows them to send RTPs, you will need to provide the sender with the following information:

  • Santander Bank’s ABA number: 231372691
  • Your own account number, which you can find in the Openbank app: sign in, tap on your account, and then select Account details
  • The sender’s bank may require additional information as well

NOTE: be careful not to share confidential banking information with anyone, until you have validated the party with whom you are speaking. RTPs are irrevocable and binding.
