Customers who participate in Verizon + Openbank Savings and meet the qualifications for a high-yield savings account at Openbank may receive exclusive Verizon + Openbank bill credit(s) on their monthly Verizon mobile bill. The Verizon bill credit amount is based on the account’s monthly average daily balance. Up to 2 Verizon bill credits can be earned per Verizon mobile account through this offer, for up to 12 consecutive months.

Note Verizon bill credits stack on top of what customers may already earn through Verizon’s Auto Pay discounts. See more details here.

To be eligible for the Verizon + Openbank Savings offer, you must meet both the Verizon requirements and the Openbank requirements below.

  • Verizon requirements:

    • To be eligible to apply for the Verizon + Openbank Savings offer and receive the Verizon bill credit, you must have a Verizon mobile Postpaid account with up to 12 phone lines maximum (depending on your plan) or a 5G Home Internet or LTE Home Internet

For details on eligibility for the Bill Credit, see details explained below in "What bill credits can I receive on my Verizon mobile bill with the Verizon + Openbank Savings offer?"

There are a few ways for current Verizon customers to participate in Verizon + Openbank Savings. Customers with Verizon mobile accounts of up to 12 phone lines maximum (depending on your plan) or a 5G Home Internet or LTE Home Internet account can apply by:

  • Visiting the Verizon + Openbank Savings page on Verizon’s website or mobile app and, from there, following directions to get started.
  • Opening their My Verizon app. On the Account menu, scroll down to the Discover more section and look for the Verizon + Openbank Savings offer tile ad. Click on the tile and you will be taken to Verizon’s mobile landing page to learn more and apply.

Please note that Verizon customers with the following account types are not eligible to apply for Verizon + Openbank Savings: Verizon Prepaid accounts; Verizon mobile Business accounts; Verizon Fios accounts; and Fios Business accounts.

By participating in Verizon + Openbank Savings, you may become eligible for a monthly Verizon bill credit on your Verizon mobile bill. The Verizon bill credit will appear on your monthly Verizon statement as Verizon and Openbank Bill Credit. 2 Verizon lines per mobile bill are eligible for the Verizon bill credit, and the credit will be applied within 2 or 3 billing cycles of meeting the eligibility requirements for the offer.

The Verizon bill credit is based on the monthly average daily balance of your high-yield savings account at Openbank, and can range between $5, $10, or $15 a month according to the following:

  • Get up to $60/year ($5/month) in Verizon bill credits if your average account balance is between $1,000 and $9,999.99. Offer valid for up to 12 consecutive months from the date you open the account.
  • Get up to $120/year ($10/month) in Verizon bill credits if your average account balance is between $10,000 and $29,999.99. Offer valid for up to 12 consecutive months from the date you open the account.
  • Get up to $180/year ($15/month) in Verizon bill credits if your balance is $30,000 or more. Offer valid for up to 12 consecutive months from the date you open the account.

Verizon bill credits will appear on your monthly Verizon statement as Verizon and Openbank Bill Credit. Please note: if you add a joint account owner after opening an account through Verizon + Openbank Savings, only the primary account holder will be eligible for the Verizon bill credit.

Your monthly average balance is the average amount in your account over the statement period. It is calculated by adding up the current balance for each day of the month, divided by the number of days in your statement period.

New deposits are reflected in your monthly average balance as soon as we receive your deposit.

Your first account statement will end on the same date in the next month after you open your account. After that, each future statement will start one day after your account opening date and end on the same date each month, though this can vary depending on the number of days in the month. As an example:

  • Your account opens on February 7, 2025
  • Your first statement will close on March 7
  • Your second statement begins on March 8, and closes on April 7
  • The third statement begins on April 8, and closes on May 7

Unfortunately, Openbank High Yield Savings accounts (including pre-existing accounts) do not qualify for the Verizon bill credit. The Verizon bill credit is only available to Verizon mobile customers who open a new account through the Verizon + Openbank Savings page on Verizon’s website or mobile app.

Please note: if you already have an existing High Yield Savings account at Openbank, you are not required to close that account if you also wish to open an additional one through Verizon + Openbank Savings.

For questions about your Openbank account or balance, call the Openbank Customer Service Center, Monday-Saturday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET (5:00 AM to 5:00 PM PT) at 855-896-2265 (855-VZN-BANK). Hearing and speech-impaired customers can call 711 or their preferred relay service.

1. On your most recent monthly Openbank statement, your monthly average daily balance is greater than the minimum to receive the credit.

2. Other lines on your account aren’t already receiving the monthly credit (limit 2) on their most recent Verizon statement.

3. You’ve waited 2- 3 billing cycles after funding your account at Openbank, and you’re maintaining the minimum balance required to earn the Verizon Bill Credit.

4. You’re looking at your most recent Verizon bill.

After confirming the above, you can contact Verizon Customer Service.

The products and rates we offer may vary between locations, are available in select markets only, and are subject to change without notice. This is a variable-rate account and the rate applicable to your balance tier may change at any time without notice. Fees may reduce earnings. A minimum deposit of $500 is required to open an Openbank + Verizon Savings account. Personal accounts only. 3To get $180 in Verizon + Openbank Bill Credits, your Verizon account must have an Openbank high yield savings account opened through the Verizon + Openbank Savings program that maintains a monthly average daily balance equal to or greater than $30,000 for all 12 months you are eligible to earn the Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit.

4Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit Eligibility and Calculation: Eligible customers must have a mobile telephone number associated with a post-paid consumer wireless account offered by Verizon within the United States (the "Verizon Account”). To receive a credit on your Verizon bill (the "Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit”), you must submit an application for an Openbank high yield savings account (the “Deposit Account”) using the application link provided on Verizon's website or mobile app. The amount of the Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit will be determined as follows:
• $5 per month for an average Deposit Account balance between $1,000 and $9,999.99 for up to 12 consecutive months from the date your Deposit Account is opened;
• $10 per month for an average Deposit Account balance between $10,000 and $29,999.99 for up to 12 consecutive months from the date your Deposit Account is opened; and
• $15 per month for an average Deposit Account balance equal to or greater than $30,000 for up to 12 consecutive months from the date your Deposit Account is opened.

The monthly average Deposit Account balance will be calculated on your Deposit Account statement date (once every month) and is mathematically derived as a daily average. If you do not maintain a qualifying Deposit Account balance in any given month, you will not receive a Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit for that month, but there will be no impact on your customer status or interest rate with Openbank. You may not be eligible for a Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit after 12 months from the date your Deposit Account is opened. If your Deposit Account or Verizon Account closes for any reason, or if the mobile telephone number associated with your Verizon Account is terminated, you will not be eligible for a full or partial Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit for that month or any future month.

Multiple Accounts: If you have more than one Deposit Account, you are only eligible to receive a Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit as to the first Deposit Account you open. If other individuals on your Verizon Account also maintain Deposit Accounts, the Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit will be applied only as to the first two individuals to open a Deposit Account. In any event, a maximum of two Verizon + Openbank Bill Credits per month may be applied to any Verizon Account. The maximum Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit obtainable is with two (2) accounts, each with minimum $30,000 average balances, resulting in a combined bill credit of $30 monthly, totaling $360 over 12 months.

Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit Application: If you qualify for a Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit, the Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit will be applied to your Verizon bill beginning within 2 to 3 Verizon bill cycles following the issuance of your initial Deposit Account statement. Verizon is solely responsible for applying the Verizon + Openbank Bill Credit based on Deposit Account balance information provided by Openbank.

5The comparison is based upon the national average for Savings deposit products as published in the FDIC National Rates and Rate Caps on FDIC.gov of 0.41%, accurate as of April 21, 2025.
